Writer Liégeard coming from Côte-d'Or in the West of France descibed the costline as the Cote D'Azur in his book, La Côte d’azur, published in eighteeen eighty seven; obviously azure being the blue colour of the Mediterranean for the gold of his region.

Nice and Antibes
Nice is the capital of the Cote D’Azur being France’s 4th city, and Antibes is close by renowned for its sailing, and yachting with luxurious yacht charters leaving the Cote D’Azur to discover the Mediterranean.
Antibes boast 50% of the worlds super yacht fleet. Saint Tropez is further west and is known more for its fun and late parties on the beach and within the walls for the quaint little fishing village.
Business is strong on the Cote D’Azur with helicopters buzzing businessmen between the Monaco tax haven, Nice, and Sophie Antipolis.

Cote D'Azur Weather
The weather on the Cote d’Azur in summer months is usually splendid with temperatures reaching 30s and sometimes 40s and there is very little rain at this time of the year. Locals boast of 320 days sun per year. Winter time is mild and many older folk heading down to their Cote D’Azur apartment or villa for the winter.
