The village of Plan De La Tour is made up of 6 hamlets including les Gambades, Les Gastons, Vallaury, les Pierrons, Préconil, la Buon Aigo, Le Plan, and Prat Bourdin. While tourists have arrived in Plan de La Tour it will always remain a sleepy French village with the Bar du Poste at its centre. The hamlets around are surrounded by vineyards and stables. It is a quiet, small village, that is perhaps best known because Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis are part-time residents.

The earliest official record of the village is the name Castrum de Planaturris from the 12th century, but the earliest real record of local habitation goes back to prehistoric times: a menhir, 3 dolmens and related artifacts dating to the Bronze Age are located at Reverti, 5 km south of the current village. Celtic-Ligurian sites have been located nearby, and there are vestiges of various Roman sites.

How to Get Here
Plan de La Tour is particularly easy to get to from the A8 motorway and Nice Cote D'Azur airport. You get on the A8 motorway and take the Muy turnoff onto the D25 which takes you to the turn-off onto the Plan de La Tour Road past Camp Ferrat.
Beaches
The best beaches in Plan de La Tour are in Sainte Maxime. There are the beaches in Sainte Maxime as well as the crescent at the Nartelle. You can get to the Nartelle pretty easily by passing Macdonalds on your right and hooking up around the round about past the golf of Sainte Maxime. The Nartelle boasts some very nice private beach clubs as wells as public beaches. There is a water ski scool where you can wakeboard and ski.
