Attention all house hunters looking for property for sale in Grimaud. Although Grimaud and Port Grimaud practically share the same name, there is very little else that the two towns have in common.
For all our clients hunting for their dream real estate in Grimaud, we have compiled a list of differences between the town and its neighbour that should be heeded if time is not to be wasted.
- The origins of Grimaud date back to the Roman-Gallo age whereas Port Grimaud was only completed in 1966 by famous 20th century architect Francois Spoerry.
- Grimaud lies at an altitude of 93 m with many of our property for sale in Grimaud enjoying some of the best views imaginable over the Mediterranean Sea. Port Grimaud however is built in the Venetian style of water channels.
- Port Grimaud is popular with boat owners as many of the properties come with their own berths and resemble the fishermans cottages made fashionable by the close coastal town of St Tropez
- Properties for sale in Grimaud tend to be all shapes and sizes: some are medieval village houses which have been renovated whilst others are exclusive villas which have been built on surrounding land. All of the houses in Port Grimaud have been built in a very similar and simple style, and painted in terracotta colours.
- House-owners in Port Grimaud can practically drive their luxury boats to their door. Those with real estate in Grimaud will have to drive the five kilometres to the nearest beach but are however favoured with some breathtaking views.
- There are many historical delights to visit in Grimaud such as the Pont des fees, a tiny aqueduct built in the 16th century.
- Port Grimaud’s attractions lie in the wonderful array of fine restaurants and bars.
Both towns are delightful in their own right, however, property hunters in the region should be aware of their differences in order to avoid confusion and disapointment. For our full portfolio of property for sale in Grimaud and Port Grimaud please click here.
