History of Beauvallon

Sainte Maxime was founded in 1000 AD by the Monks from the Lerins who came from further west towrds Monaco. They built a monastery called Maxime after one of the Monks. Inhabitants earned their living from fishing at the time, but by 1800s lumber, cork, olive oil, grapes, rose wine, was exported .Michel Constantin (1924–2003) was a French movie actor who made Ste Maxime famous and he he owned a villa at Beauvallon.

The hole undulates considerably and you are left with a short iron to an elevated green.

How to Get to Beauvallon

By road getting to Beauvallon is pretty simple by getting to Aix en Provence and then taking the A8 to the Muy turn-off. From le Muy to Beauvallon take either D25 or D8. Head South on the Route de Bourgarde towards the DN7, turn right at Rue de L'Hotel de Ville, and then continue on the Ancienne Rue de Sainte Maxime.On the D25 turn left at the D125. Once you get to the D98 go through two roud a bouts and you are there.

Beauvallon by Plane should bring you aither to Nice Cote D'Azur or Toulon Saint Tropez airports. From there you need to get a taxi, or a shuttle bus or rent a car and get to Beauvallon by Le Muy, or past Cogolin via Toulon. The train arrives at Les Arcs, or at Saint Raphael.

Beaches in Beauvallon

Beautiful north beaches facing Saint Tropez as you look across the golpe de Saint Tropez. There are all the Sainte Maxime Beaches including Maxime Beach just before you get to Beauvallon which seems to beleive it is the beach where Jaws was sighted. There is a very pleasant beach called Les Cigales with a little bridge you can walk over and you will see surfers taking advantage of the lage waves in winter. As you get to the Guerreveille roundabout there is another great beach with beach beds and a little snack bar. Mattresses are in yellow and it is famous for wind surfers and kite boarders who come out when the wind picks up. Opposite the golf Beauvallon golf couse is the beautiful Beauvallon beach where the owners have brought a whole restaurant from London.
